How to read data from the current row

8 years 3 months ago #1 by Orren
Currently, if I create a firedatagrid linked to a dataset via livebindings and click onto different rows, i cannot tell which row I am in via the dataset. When I do something like showmessage(dataset.fieldbyname('xx').asstring); - it shows the last record I clicked on, not the current record.

How do I find out what row/record I am in?

This can be reproduced in the demo application by adding a button to the screen that has the following code:

showmessage(Datasource1.dataset.fieldbyname('id').asstring)

Thanks!
